Great projection, tone and dynamics.

All ds shells are built using a new exclusive manufacturing process called HDS – High Density Shell Tecnology that allows us to increase the density of the wood.  All it’s made in our Custom Shop in Torino, Italy to your exact custom size, feature, and finish specifications. Our German Beech, like all of the woods used for Rebel Mother Nature Series snare drums, is hand-selected to meet stringent requirements for proper density, age, and consistency of grain and color. Beech has been used in drum construction for a long time. German Beech wood offers a full, warm tone with evenly balanced lows, mids and highs.

All German Beech.  7-ply thin,

The 30 degree bearing edge was commonly used on vintage drums from the 19030’s onward. Our 30 degree bearing edge has a rounded over profile that increase drumhead contact with the shell and as a result, the sound is more focused. In the forests of Fiemme also grow rare plants abnormal Red Fir identifiable by a few lumberjack experts before cutting which provide a high-quality tonewood already used by Antonio Stradivari and other main’600 ‘700 master luthiers.
Due to its extraordinary mechanical and acoustic characteristics this wood it’s been studied and tested in our time by many universities and laboratories of researchers, resonance Red Fir is still sought after and used for the construction of soundboards for stringed instruments such as, pianos, violins and others, playing in the world. Of 12 thousand cubic meters of timber each year is extracted from the forest of Val di Fiemme, only a small amount, from 20 to 50 cubic meters has the potential to become material for musical instruments, namely low specific weight, elasticity, stability good workability and especially a high ratio between the transmission speed of ultrasound in the longitudinal and transverse compared to fibers. Not surprisingly, in the field of music it is customary to define the Val di Fiemme as the Violins Forest.

Rebel’s Wild Cherry, like all of the woods used for Rebel Mother Nature Series snare drums, is hand-selected to meet stringent requirements for proper density, age, and consistency of grain and color. Much of our Wild Cherry is selected from age-old Cherry trees from Europe. A visually stunning wood, Wild Cherry often has an attractive grain with many natural highlights and figuring patterns. Wild Cherry also deepens and darkens with time into a luscious, rich reddish brown. Wild Cherry shells are noted for their articulation, warmth and presence. Cherry tends to be a bit brighter than maple.
